Hello,
I work in HP-UX enviornment,details
HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800 119907946 unlimited.
The uptime of system is 191-days. In recent times we are facing a lot of problems regarding exe's not getting killed by scripts or system getting stuck.
Is there any reason it has to do with the uptime, coz rebooting the system requires a lot of long procedure. Kindly suggest, thx.

hi,

the uptime is not so big, we have servers running more than 3 years without reboot,
i would recommend to check the heat status of the system if you don't have some problem

if you are running some java app it could sometimes happen that the java is killing the server.

i would check the HW and also the pacth level if they are not some fixes related to your problems, and also the kernel parameters.

Thx, also can you pls help me in finding the log area for exe's monitoring.
As one of our exe's was down for couple of times and the tivoli alerts did not rise up.
So would to check the logs to get an idea as to when the exe was down and again brought -up by other teams.
The area suggested was /var, for the logs but where in /var i am not sure and unable to get it.
