Re: HP-UX Daemons
Everyone will tell you another set of 4 important daemons ...
This is part of a quiz, right?
Where are answers A, B, C and D?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP-UX Daemons
the question is the equivalent to :
what are all the four important part of a Ferari?
Some will say only the color
Most will say the engine
the logo?
the door?
the seats?
......
you mean in single user mode? Else there are more than 4 or less than 4.
we can tell
swapper
init
vhand
statdaemon
but why stop there if you want to really know, just start the system in single user mode, then do a 'ps -aef', you will get almost what is necessary for the system to run.
Kernel or user level daemon?
ps -aef |sort can give you an idea of important daemons
