HP-UX LTU, ICAP etc

Bit of an odd question but I've looked around and am struggling to see the answer at the moment.

HP-UX (v3) LTU's ... are these on a per CPU basis or a per core basis? Also with ICAP is this done on a per CPU or per core?

I assume that whatever the answer to the above is the same is true for other HP products you may want to use with HP-UX?

I'm guessing that it's all per CPU instead of per core but I am having difficulty finding information either way ...

Cheers

Re: HP-UX LTU, ICAP etc

Shalom,

Last I read them, LTU was based system by system. License To Use (A system).

If it says anything about number of CPU's it normally does not get into cores, just physical CPU's

Re: HP-UX LTU, ICAP etc

I remembered from our orders that LTU's and ICAP are based on cores.

Re: HP-UX LTU, ICAP etc

All LTU's I'm aware of are priced per core.

The OS itself is licensed per core (ridiculous if you ask me, but they didn't) and I believe most add-on software is per core.

Re: HP-UX LTU, ICAP etc

Finally found a page on HP's site this morning which indicates that OS LTU's are per core
