HP-UX LUNs
If i do "ioscan; insf -e", i am getting all the assigned LUNs listed.
But if i reboot the box, No LUNs are listed. Once again if i do "ioscan; insf -e", then LUNs will be listed.
After rebooting, no LUNs will be listed.
I am not understand what to do ? where is the problem ?
There is no zoning with switch.

Re: HP-UX LUNs
During reboot insf will be run to create the device files for new devices identified by the system.
Does ioscan shows the LUNS after ithout device files?
How about the patch level? Do you have the latest patch bundle installed?
Ganesh.

Re: HP-UX LUNs
Have you tried -u instead of -k with ioscan command? -k will read the data from the kernel. -u will scan and list the devices.
Try #ioscan -funC disk

Re: HP-UX LUNs
Your patching is a bit out of date.
insf -e sets device drivers, and is used when a new device is added.
insf -C disk is used for disks, but this is run as part of the boot process.
I would suggest there is a problem with fiber channel drivers or zoning and/or configuration of the LUNS.
I would update drivers and check the SAN, and update system patching prior to proceeding.

Re: HP-UX LUNs
There is no zoning, so problem with the driver.
The HBA what the box is having is " Driver Version = @(#) libtd.a HP Fibre Channel Tachyon XL2 Driver B.11.23.0709 $Date: 2007/06/20 12:44:45 $Revision: r11.23/5"
I am not sure where i can get the right updated latest driver. Any one give the link ?
