Hi,

do you consider HP SIM in conjuction with WBEM Services a suitable management and monitoring platform for HP-UX servers (Itanium, 11.31) from HW and SW perspective?

Yes.. HPSIM is a Gold Standard and "de riqeur" for any HP Platform even -- Windows, Linux, HP-UX.

This is the future, at least from HP's point of view.

Well let's see.. the LIST is long with HP's Management Infrastructure and Framework. The most common is consistency in its look and feel - ALL managers of HP's cache of tools -- from SMH, to CommandView, Insight, etc - has a common look and feel and EASIEST to navigate amd fairly intuitive.

With HPSIM - whose agents are Free:

- you get FULL monitoring of all your OS and HW
- Alerting
- Integration with 3rd PArty Tools
- WBEM
- Discovery
- Deployment

And it is VERY EASY to implement
