Re: HP UX system Log
Hi,
did you TOC the server? If yes, then crashdump should be created and after the boot you should have saved the crashdump to be analyzed by HP engineer. They have trained experts in kernel internals and would have find out, exactly what was happening in the system during your hang.
If you just did a hard reset, then I'd suggest checking the MP/GPS logs Alert 2 and higher, if there is any HW problem... Oh I see now that you don't have physicall access to console....
when you run #ioscan , then try opening another terminal simultaneously and run #ioscan -kfn ,to see where exactly is the #ioscan hanging, or why is it taking longer to complete (check the SCANNING/SCAN)

Re: HP UX system Log
I'm sorry, did you mean that you can't access console (it doesn't work) or you can't get close to the server to access it?? Do you have MP LAN, or you mean local rs-232 port?
Try resetting the MP interface, there should be a button which you should hold for a couple of seconds.
