I have a customer is currently running HPUX v11.0 and planning to upgrade to 11iv1. He currently under support and has licences for GlancePlus Pak, OnLine JFS, MirrorDisk/UX, and ServiceGuard. Since he qualifies to upgrade to the Mission Critical OE, what does he need to do to get the license key for the upgrade? Or are the update CD's he's receiving automatically unlocked for the MCOE. Thanks in advance.

Re: HPUX 11.0 to 11iv1 Upgrade
Normally an upgrade to a different version of HP-UX will require new keys for optional software such as Mirror/UX, Glance, etc. However, with the new Operating Environment packages, these software products are bundled in the MCOE so your upgrade CDs are ready to use. I believe you'll need a new license key for the entire MCOE bundle but that's all. The license keys are always based on the install/upgrade CDROM discs.

Re: HPUX 11.0 to 11iv1 Upgrade
Bill,
Thanks for the reply. So the customer should contact Support with his system handle and they will provide the license key for the appopriate operating environment? Can he do this online?
Thanks again,
Dwight
