Im still unable to connect, is there any chance a firewall migth be blocking me ?

While running tracert or ping i get a destination net unreachable

Yes - it could be my firewall - what are the 1st 3 octets of your ip?

I have over 600 DROP rules....

my first 3 octects are
211.36.79

Yep - some nasty people in there - I was blocking the entire class A!

$IPT -A INPUT -p ALL -s 211.0.0.0/8 -j DROP
$IPT -A INPUT -p ALL -s 212.0.0.0/8 -j DROP
$IPT -A INPUT -p ALL -s 213.0.0.0/8 -j DROP

Try it now.

one further question.
My net admin is asking me if you have the IP address that was causing you trouble, so that he can address the issue.
