Hi all...

I am a root user of the system. But when i am trying to change ownership of certain files in that system.(chown -h root ).The error comes user doesn't have access. These files are links.Even if i go inside its parent directory, the same error displays.

Please provide a solution if any..

Re: Hi all...

Hi Chic:

This will either be an NFS mounted directory or a problem with the permissions on the directory. Do a 'ls -lad dirname' to check the dir permissons.

Re: Hi all...

Chic,

Please make sure that the file is not protected.

provide ls -l /path to file

getacl /path to parent directory...
