Yes, the host halted. There was nothing in /var/adm/crash or shutdownlog or syslog.log

The -r option came out with version 3.5 vm. We are still on 3.0

If there's no crash either you didn't have enough dump space to store the dump -- or this was a HPMC / MCA type error.

Have you checked the console logs for machine abort errors?
