Re: Housekeep /var/opt/ignite

Hi

My intent is to reduce /var from the current critical 70% to a lower %, i mean if possible 50%.

Below are the directories existed in the /var/opt/ignite. The /var/opt occupies the most disk space on the server.

INDEX config_11.11_eoe.local data
recovery
archives config_11.11_eoe.local.orig
local
saved_cfgs
clients config_11.11_mcoe.local
local_setup
scripts
config.local config_11.23_eoe.local
logs
server

Are there files that can be deleted in /var/opt?

Please advice.

Thanks a lot

Hi,

What is the current size of var?
Could you please paste #bdf

What purpose this server is used?

Could you please check if any old crashdumps are lying in /var/adm/crash ?

Are there files that can be deleted in /var/opt?

I dont think so.

Re: Housekeep /var/opt/ignite

If thats a ignite server then what u can remove is old ignite backups, probably you can keep latest 2 and remove others.

Re: Housekeep /var/opt/ignite

Hi again,

normally only in /var/opt/ignite/archives are big files. Check what there is.

You can write the content to a tape or another (network-based?) disk.
You need it if you want to install with ignite, then you have to write it back in this directory.

As mentioned above (and in other threads here in the forum) you better search in:
/var/adm/crash
/var/tmp
or check for big files.
Just do a search in this forum with 'disk full'.

Also: check for superseeded patches.

How to keep the last 2 ignite backups?

->You have to launch:
