Hi all,
I have a DL385 G1 with a smart array 6i running 2.4.21-32.0.1.ELsmp:
cciss0: HP Smart Array 6i Controller
Board ID: 0x40910e11
Firmware Version: 2.58
IRQ: 24
Logical drives: 2
Current Q depth: 0
Current # commands on controller: 0
Max Q depth since init: 128
Max # commands on controller since init: 129
Max SG entries since init: 31
Sequential access devices: 0
cciss/c0d0: 69.45GB RAID 1(0+1)
cciss/c0d1: 572.19GB RAID 5
What I'd like to know is if there is a way of veriying the underlying configuration of the disks involved and their status as one has apparently failed.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tony

Solution
Install the HP-ACU-CLI, and use the command:
hpacucli ctrl all show config detail
It lists most of the controller settings, all logical volume states, and physical volume states.
I use this tool with a wrapper script (in the forums somewhere) and plug it into nagios to automate monitoring.
It's simple, and straight forward.

One long-haired git at your service...

Re: How can I verify the config and status of a cciss device
Excellent - just what I needed.
