How do create device File for Tape
I have upgrade the Alpha GS-80 Server. When the server boot , it get this error meaasge "ctape_ioctl : unmapped scsi density code (0X49). DDR entry needed." How do i delete and recreate a device file in True64 Unix.Wht do think is problem.

Not sure if you did a hardware upgrade or software and version. Anyhow, it seems
Your ddr database is not ok. please put a entry in ddr.dbase for density of the tape. You can get the value from tape manual. The entry should be in sequence like
scsi_tape_density[0x47]
scsi_tape_density[0x48]
scsi_tape_density[0x49]
One sample entry is as below
scsi_tape_density[0x49] = "225000_bpi" 225000 0
After putting please check the device if you are able to see in hwmgr by scaning.
