Hi Johnson,

RP7420 supports maximum of 128GB by using eight 16GB squads.

Currently you have only 4 slots available that you can fill with 32GB at maximum. Otherwise you need to upgrade the existing modules with high capacity modules.

hi

please refer to the following link also, and in the below part of th link please vist the quick specs for rp7420 server.

maX mem supported for rp7420 is 128 GB ( Considering 2 Cell Boards,16 DIMM Slots and using the 16GB Quads that is 16 GB Quad means 4 GB*4 DIMMS)

the 4 GB DIMM Modules cant be moxed in the cell board with the 512MB,1GB or 2GB DIMM Modules)

so considering that constraint 4 more modules can be added with the existing one that of 2 GB each .

Hi Johnson,

I am not sure how many cellborads you are having on your server. This server supports maximum of 2 cellboards. As per your details first cellboard has 4 dimm slots free where you can put 4*4GB=16.

If you have another cellboard check how many dimm slots are free. You can put 4GB in each slot. This way you can calculate how maximum memory you can upgrade.

Consider these rules on memory upgrade.

Memory must be installed in quads (4 DIMMs of equal size)

On each cell board, Memory Quads must be installed in the following order:
1st (0A, 0B, 1A, 1B), 2nd (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B), 3rd (4A, 4B, 5A, 5B), 4th (6A, 6B, 7A, 7B)
