I don't want to use LVM/VXVM.

There is no format/fdisk type command in PA-RISC (HP-UX). If you want to slice/partition the disk, either you have to use LVX or VxVM.

You have to Use LVM/VXVM.
No commands format/ Fdisk like we use in Solaris and Linux.

You can use "Whole Disk" partitioning approach if you dont want to use LVM/VxVM.

use sam to configure disk using whole disk approach.

however the following limitations of whole disk partitioning approach shud be considered-

1- A File system cannot span multiple disks.
2- There can only be one file system partition per disk .
3- File system cannot be extended in case more space is needed.

Shashi want's a Partations in Disk, Which we can not do using Whole Disk approch.
