How to check for empty memory slots on an rp4440 ?

I am trying to find out if I have a 16 or 32 slot memory carrier in a rp4440 running HP-UX 11.11. When checking memory it displays the 12 x 1GB dimms that the server is configured with but does not display any empty slots.

I don't know what stm version you are running, but I believe there was an update in which HP fixed the not listing empty memory slots "bug".

hi,

where are you checking at PDC level or in hpux STM?

Im pretty sure that at PDC it will show you the empty slots, and should really in STM if you are reasonably up to date with the version of diagnostics installed.

Obviously trying to avoid a reboot, you try running the info tool against the system in stm.

either run cstm and select the system dev, usually dev 1 in the map and run info and infolog commands or do it all on the command line

#echo "selclass qualifier system;info;wait;il" | cstm > /tmp/sysinfo.txt

this should list all the FRU's and part numbers so you could then look for the part number.

16 slot mem boards start with A6961-(67104)
32 slot mem boards start with A9739-(67003)

or something similar.

There should also be a brief description for it as well.

Just installed latest Diagnostics and now cstm is displaying the empty slots. Thank you!
