How to disable CPU?

Hi,

I have to decrease number of active processors in rp8400 server (total number of processors is 8 -> 4 processors per cell), by switching them off in MP environmnent.
I assume, I have to disable processors in specific order, I am not aware of (after researching the docs).

Please, can you help me,

Hi,
Why do you need to disable some CPU ?
they are working somehow load-shared in time with growing demands on system you can need them all.

Could you please give some more details about your existing CPU, Like CPU type, its architecture, Server Model and OS version etc.
what is the partition configuration and how the CPUs are allocated in that?

Assuming that you have server complex and that you want to delete
unbound CPU from a vPar.post
vparstatus o/p,
vparstatus -w
You can have the cpu deleted with the below command :
vparmodify â p vParX â d cpu::1
look for partationable servers administrator guide at docs.hp.com.

CPU configuration is enclosed (rp8400, no HW partitions).
My aim is to decrease number of active processors because of SW licence restriction from 8 active processors to 4 or 2 active processors.
