How to disable auto-mounting

HPUX 11.11: Besides modifying the /etc/fstab file, is there another to disable auto-mounting of mountpoints during server boot-up?

Re: How to disable auto-mounting

hello,

You should take a look at the file /etc/rc.config.d/nfsconf.

All the switches are in this file.

hope this helps

Re: How to disable auto-mounting

I misspoke(?). I am refering to preventing customer data mountpoints from mounting. I want to do an fsck against the data and it cant be mounted

Now you know that there is this thing called automounter.

/etc fstab is all you need to modify to prevent mounting during boot-up

You can also unmount a filesystem to do fsck while the server is running. And if you have a vxfs filesystem and also have onlineJFS instaled, you can fsck the filesystem while mounted and running.
