SolutionYou can convert your server into Trusted one.
1. Backup your /etc/passwd before converting to trusted mode.
2. #sam -> security -> Audited systems
By Commnad line:
# /etc/tsconvert -c
and then;
# /usr/lbin/modprpw -V
Document:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-3387/apas01.html
You can go through the above doc for more details.
Hope this helps.

Re: How to enable the security access in HP-UX
RK is right.
but make sure you convert a dev server first, test on this with approval of your apps, DB teams.
after converting to trusted mode, test your applications, DBS and other user accounts
if everything is OK, then move on to QA and PROD servers.

Re: How to enable the security access in HP-UX
Trusted system is deprecated in HP-UX 11.31. As I recall that is the last version of the Os that will provide this feature.
You need to be aware of it for the long term.
You can use Trusted System now without trouble, but that is not an option after 11.31. Other tools providing the same functionality are offered at http://software.hp.com for 11.31 and maybe your OS, if I knew what it was.
