How to identify disk bay number from OS (HPUX 11iv3)

hi,

I would like to find out if and how its possible to determine disk bay numbers from hpux 11iv3?

server model --- rx7640
It has two internal scsi disk

Do we have any command here like sasmgr?

Helps will be appreciated and points will be given....

Not really any OS commands to do this directly... you just have to look at an ioscan output and match up against whats in the manuals... p28 of this doc shows you the HW paths:

Alternatively if you can get to the system itself, just use dd to cause the LED on each disk to light up in turn to help you identify it.

All the servers with internal SAS disks can identify the slot for a specific disk (sasmgr or sautil command); for all earlier servers you need to look up this information in the user guide (or use "dd").
