How to know cron job status after execution

Is there any way to check cron job status after execution of job.
The job which is producing output,it's status is available by seeing output.
But when the job didn't produce output like removing old logs etc.

There should be a log you can look at.  /var/spool/cron/tmp/.

It probably won't have much details.
