SolutionNo it is not possible.
Capture from "man vxupgrade"
Disk layout versions cannot be downgraded, for example, you cannot change a file system from disk layout version 4 to disk layout version

Re: How to modify file system layout ?
is that not the VxFS 4.1 file system which employs Disk Layout Version 6? if so, why do u need to downgrade since it also supports version 4 and 5.
btw, did u apply a patch to upgrade from version 4 to 6?
regards.

Re: How to modify file system layout ?
It got posted a bit earlier.
Disk layout versions cannot be downgraded, for example, you cannot change a file system from disk layout version 4 to disk layout version 3.

Re: How to modify file system layout ?
Hi,
The vxupgrade command can upgrade an existing Version 3 VxFS file
system to the Version 4 layout while the file system remains online.
vxupgrade can also upgrade a Version 2 file system to the Version 3
layout. See vxupgrade(1M) for details on upgrading VxFS file
systems. You cannot downgrade a file system that has been upgraded.
The above is an extract from
http://docs.hp.com/en/B3929-90011/B3929-90011.pdf
Hope this helps,
Siva
