I have configured an Ignite-UX Recovery Archive Server and successfully took backup using "make_net_recovery -s 192.168.1.10 -x inc_entire=vg00".
Now my query is if my boot disk becomes corrupted then how can reinstall from the created image?
My OS is B.11.11 and system model is rp3440
I have found the following steps to recover a non-bootable system:
1)Power up the system
2)Interrupt the boot
3) Boot from the ignite-UX sertver--->What is the command
...........
.........
.......
Thanks
Minhaz

Re: How to restore OS from an Ignite-UX Recovery Archive Server
then boot the system over LAN(this shall require the ignite server to be configured to allow remote boot) then ignite install the system.
this shall need setting up /etc/bootptab on ignite server to be edited toput the MAC Address and temporary IP of the server to be installed.
and allowing the tftp, bootps and instl_boots services in /etc/inetd.conf of the ignite server.
OR u can boot the system using boot DVD having the same version of ignite as the Ignite server, then choose "boot from DVD and network based installtion" -- you shall be prompted for the system IP address, gateway,. subnet mask and the client shall be able to pickup the config and the archive from the server.

Re: How to restore OS from an Ignite-UX Recovery Archive Server
try giving that command boot lan.
and see , i am not too sure about this PARSIC system.
Or alterbatively you can boot using the core OS and install DVD and choose the option network based installationa and choose/provide Ignite server IP address,gateway and IP addresses.

Solutionin our Integrity 11.23 this is how we do
my /etc/bootptab is like this on the ignite server ( you an copy an entry from the existing one)
cat /etc/bootpab
server\
bf=/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi:\
hn:\
vm=rfc1048:\
ht=ether:\
ha=0018FE280160:\
ip=204.187.168.143:\
sm=255.255.255.0
gw=204.187.168.254
You need to change 3 items in this file
server is your ignite client
ha is a H/w address. get it from ipconfig lan0 or do a lanscan
IP is the ip addr of your client
SM and gw are the subnet mask and the gateway address
# Resoting Client from ignite
1-Reboot the server and go to efi shell and create db profile
Shell>dbprofile -dn testprofile -sip 204.187.168.207.x -cip 204.187.168.143 -gip 204.187.168.254 -m 255.255.255.0 -b "/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi"
2-Exit efi shell.
3- Go to boot configuration 4- add a boot option 5-select lan A
5-Give name of boot option "Lan A" 6-select db-profile 7-Confirm Y
7-Exit from main menu 8-Select LanA and boot from Lan....
hope this will helps.
