How to run a health check on disks?

Hello,

I'm facing some problems installing HP-UX 11i v3 on a RX2660 server. I got an error output when installing a file set of kernel. Something like "unable to write on disk...".

I'm trying to run a health check on the disks using the Offline Diagnostic and Utilities CD but I cannot find the modules related to disks as DISKEXPT and DISKUTIL.

Anyone knows how to run a offline health check on disks? What else can be done in this situation?

If the server is up and running (Online) there are different commands you can run to look at different things.I'd do a man or -h after each command.
There are new options with ioscan like ioscan -P health and ioscan -m lun. Do a man on ioscan to see some of your new options.

There is also scsimgr commands which I have found very helpful in the past.
ex. scsimgr -p get_attr all_lun -a wwid -a state

If they are sas disks you have sasmgr
ex. sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd0

And you could also possibly look at stm or cstm for hardware errors.

best way to check the disk integrity is run dd during the off business hours :)
