How to take ISO Image of OS on Linux Server

Hi! ,

I want to know the procedure or commands that are helpful for taking the ISO Image of OS on a RH Linux Server. Uptill now what i have explored so far , i have not found any command support for the same. There are number of tools avaiable and i am trying mkCDrec tool , but the problem is it takes the ISO image on CD-ROM. I want the backup of the image on same disk. Also, the recovery of the Linux Server or kick start should be through that image.

Shalom,

May need a new tool and you may be exceeding the size of the DVD.

Kickstart as far as I know can access iso images of the install cd's not an image you made.

What kickstart does is take install settings and build the OS from the install images. Any rpm based software can be added to a kickstart configuratio file.

Maybe SystemImager can provide what you want, not exactly in the same way, but something alike.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

I've never used it, but I think Mondo Rescue is supposed to be able to do that.
