Is there any method or tool to take Linux OS backup with whole OS restore facility like Ignite backup of HPUX.

Hi,

 

 

A good solution is always virtualize the physical Machine.

 

You can use convert to go from physical to virtual is pretty straight forward.

We have standardised with MondoRescue.  www.mondorescue.org

Very very good for doing OS Backups, DR, P2V, V2P, etc.

 

Or you can just use good old dump(8).
