I would like to have maximum 5 retries for particular logins. How I do it in command line ?

Are you asking about "number of times a user can try to put login and password" details in a login prompt. I hope it is by default 3. No setting to change it to less or more.

If you want then you have to write your own PAM module to get that effect.

Hi Vaish,

"sam" is the best tool for administring HP-UX. Also, do a search in itrc, you will find tons of information. You can close this thread in case, your problem got solved.
