you have 2x quad core CPUs.

cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep "cpu cores"
should return cpu cores : 4

dmesg |grep "CPU: Physical Processor ID"
should return 2 CPUs

Your cpuinfo output pretty much speaks for itself.

Be mindful too as there are certain processors that have HyperThreading enabled so yuor Quad Core CPU will appear as having 8 "cpus".
