How will I know which is the Ignite server and which are clients so that I can lable them accordingly..

Is there a command to check this.. like I run the command and it tells if it is a Ignite server or a client.

Hakki Aydin I still could not get you.
I have 5 servers.. How will I know which one of them is an Ignite server.

An Ignite server has already beeen setup by someone else and he did not tell me which one is the ignite server.. Now How will I find out which is acting as the Ignite server out of my 5 servers

Also could you tell me how to get the Ignite GUI

on hp-ux window just issue:

export DISPLAY=host.display
ignite

as far as I know there is no concept for ignite server or client , you can choose whichever you want. .

The DISPLAY environment variable may be incorrect, or, if you are
running ignite remotely, you may need to allow the remote system
to access your local X server by typing

on your local machine.

Hi David,

just to clear a couple of things.
When exporting the display you have to replace "host" with the hostname of your system and not literally with host.

About your question "how to check which is the Ignite-UX server and which is the client" as far as I know there is no a specific way, so I'd verify by some tips: for example check if into /var/opt/ignite does exist a file called machines which lists clients and does exist a directory clients which is populated by clients name. If clients directory is empty I think you can say it's a client, if populated it's the server.
I suppose you'll find just one system with /var/opt/ignite/clients/ not empty.
