INIT: Command is respawing too rapidly

Hi after booting my system I´m getting this error on the console and don´t know what to do.

######## START #####

INIT: Command is respawing too rapidly

Will try again in 5 minutes.

Check for possible errors

ID: ac "/ce/acqtion/filesC/shells/start_action > /dev/null 2>&1 # start FCC"

######## END #######

Best regards

Re: INIT: Command is respawing too rapidly

>/ce/acqtion/filesC/shells/start_action

What does this do?

Also, it would be helpful to not redirect the output to /dev/null but append to a logfile.

Re: INIT: Command is respawing too rapidly

Hi dear Dennis,

I realy don´t know because i´m responsible for the infrastructure and not for the system running on top of it, so this machine runs an oracle application and it just went down and i was called to bring it back up faced with this error.

Any idea?

Re: INIT: Command is respawing too rapidly

Dear Dennis,

I figure it out, there is hard disk failure, and this script is on the partition from that disk that is not showing up.

# cat /etc/fstab
# System /etc/fstab file. Static information about the file systems
# See fstab(4) and sam(1M) for further details on configuring devices.
#
/dev/vgtest/lvce /ce vxfs delaylog 0 2

and that vgtest can´t get mounted because is faulty.

Thanks for the support.
