Ignite Install Error

Hello All,

I'm trying to set up an Ignite server and get this error message:

Could not access remote file "/opt/ignite/Version" in software item "Ignite-ux.MGMT-TOOLS,r-C.7.8.201,..... due to an internal error on the remote system.

And the install suspends. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance,

-Eric

Re: Ignite Install Error

What is the way of your installation? If it is by swinstall, maybe you need to restart swagentd.

Re: Ignite Install Error

I restarted swagentd and I'm still getting the same thing.

I was trying to do it in sam quick as my first attemps to do it with swinstall didn't work.

Re: Ignite Install Error

Maybe the ignite server version is lower than the client ignite version.

Re: Ignite Install Error

Hi Eric,

As per the log you are installing ignite from the depot available local filesystem at viper:/backup/Ignite-UX-11-ALL_C.7.8.201.depot.

It may possible that you have corrupted depot. Try downloading the depot again and install it.
Best wishes,

Ganesh.

Re: Ignite Install Error

I'm not sure why this worked but I found a post that said this:

Ok,

I got it working now. I edited the /var/adm/sw/defaults file to include:
swinstall.use_alternate_source=true

And then I re-started the swagentd as suggested.

Thanks for your help.
Jani

My install worked fine after doing that. Thanks for your help.
