Ignite UX - IA-64 restoration question

I have the Core OS DVD B.11.23 dated Sept. 2006. I have ignited a 11.23 system to tape using ignite version Ignite-UX C.6.7.79.

I'm not sure what ignite version is on the Core OS DVD B.11.23 dated Sept. 2006, but I believe it may be a higher version.

Will I be able to restore the OS using this tape and DVD combo?

Yes.

You may have to try a few times because you need to match up the Ignite backup to the DVD.

Keeping better records avoids this issue.

You may wish to ask, what are you trying to restore? If you have a particular combination of additional software and custom configuration, this may be worth it.

If not, a bare metal OS install might work better.
