Re: Ignite recovery
- use dbprofile from efi
- use an ignite boot helper
- boot from an install DVD in order to restore from server
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Ignite recovery
You need to configure "boothelper" on your ignite-server.
if you want to reinstall a system (it has already a system load), you can just call the bootsys command on the ignite server, e.g.:
bootsys -avf host
If you have to boot from the network you can simply setup a boothelper:
Install the ignite-ux package at your boothelper, then execute for minimal setup:
instl_adm -b # clean default config
instl_adm -t ServerIP # enter address of Igniteserver
In the setting up a boot helper doc, after it tells you to install, it gives you a file to edit and point to your ignite server and give a temporary address for the boot helper to boot your new machine to. That is all you need to do. Then when you install on the other subnet, you use 'boot lan.ipoftheboothelper install' instead of 'boot lan.ipoftheigniteserver install".
instl_adm -m NetMask # enter your netmask, if not default
edit /etc/opt/ignite/instl_boottab and add one or more ip-addresses for temporal use
Maybe you want to setup additional values like default gateway, if your system does not support proxy-arp.
Take a look at this thread,
http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/iux_faq
Look at section 6.10 .
Here is another thread,
http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/docs/sysadm.html#Chapter-6
Hope, this will help you to achive your goal.
regards,

Re: Ignite recovery
This is a little complicated but it still can be done easily.

Re: Ignite recovery
The other option would be to get the vlan changed for client temporary with the help of network team.

Re: Ignite recovery
I do underline Torsten's suggestion : use dbprofile. In a few words you define at EFI, on client side, parameters like IP of the client, IP of the ignite server, gateway, boot file, etc ... Very easy to have it working. Check this page http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-3336/ch07s06.html
