Re: Install debian probliant dl380 G5

Instead of the "netinst" iso, please get the "testing" iso as the latter may not have all hardware drivers needed for installation.

You may note that the "netinst" installer has to get most of the components from an upstream server, you may have not installed everything for it to complete.

Hello Cèdric!

Probably missing drivers of controller boot disks.

I had the same problem with megaraid controller . I solved using a distro with 2.4 version of kernel.

Re: Install debian probliant dl380 G5

I think you'd better give HP a call. Debian GNU/Linux is officially supported on your DL360, according to this url:

Re: Install debian probliant dl380 G5

(Of course, I'm assuming you're also using this _official_ HP Debian Netinst ISO:

https://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/try.do?productNumber=T2811AA

And not the one from Debian.org)

Re: Install debian probliant dl380 G5

Cedric,

I had some issues with particular hard drives on some workstations. I could install the OS, but when it came to booting, I couldn't get into the OS.

I ended up replacing the hard drive with a different one and had no issues.

Almost seems to me like you might be having some of the same issues.

Hi,
Create a boot partition of 512 MB size. Then proceed with normal installation.I think this will resolve your problem. It is documented as a know issue in sarge poliant how to document.
