Installation of HP-Ux 11i version 2 on HP rs 2600

Hi,

I tried to install above mentioned version on rx 2600. After showing some errors it asked for CD 2. After installing some packages it hanged for a long time. I restarted the server and got an option of HP ux 1/1/2.xx in boot menu. I tried to boot it but it hnaged and restarted the system itself.
I tried to reinstall the OS but it flashes the "System Panic" message and resrted the system.
Getting no idea why it happens where to read the log files.
I am good in linux and windows and have no deep experience of HP-ux.
Nice of you guys if help me out in it.

Hi,
Please post the errors where its stuck .

Check your 2nd DVD may be DVD drive not able to read your 2nd DVD. 1st try to replace yout 2nd DVD and try to install the OS.

Error flashes for a second and system restarts. The only thing read able is system panic... Yes it read second DVD but could not complete teh installation successfully.

Nor I can reinstall the OD from 1st CD even now.

Consider to capture the console output or review the console log from MP. Have a look into the MP system logs for high level alerts too.

You probably using a terminal emulator (e.g. putty) to access the MP from your PC - just turn "logging" on.

You can also use the "cl" console log option from the MP and cut'n'paste.

the system installation is not complete, so it have no IP address yet, then how to connect putty from remote.
Should I eneter CL command in efi shell.
HOw to copy the efi shell in USb to further copy it in my workstation.

Do do you access the MP currently?

All the mentioned logs are directly in MP:

MP MAIN MENU:

CO: Console
VFP: Virtual Front Panel

thanks for your patience -- I have no access to MP.. I couldn't see any MP option while system boots..
Sharing th eystem firmware with you might give you an idea if they needs to update ..
