After reading this thread.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=774117
I've installed ghostscript from here
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/PostScript/ghostscript-7.07b/
for 11.11 v1 however when running
swinstall -s /tmp/ghostscript-7.07b-hppa-11.11.depot
I get a message about dependencies, exactly the same ones as it's says is bundled in the install instructions.
------- From Install Instructions ------
Note: I 've included :
ghostscript-fonts-other-6.0 ghostscript-fonts-std-6.0 with this version of ghostscript.
also I have included :
jpeg-6b
libpng-1.2.4
zlib-1.1.4
-------
And it installs with errors and I can't find anything under the default location of /usr/local
Anyone see what I'm doing wrong?
Andrew

SolutionCheck the sw install log for errors.
swverify \*
See if anything you have recently installed is corrupt.

Re: Installing Ghostscript - Precompiled
Cheers Steven,
swverify shows an error of verify failed on one of the dependencies of gcc which is a dependency of the above install.
It seems I'm to install gettext and libiconv at the same time due to a circular dependency between the two.
But I've got files libiconv-1.10-hppa-11.11.depot
gettext-0.14.5-hppa-11.11.depot
and whichever I install first using
swinstall -s /tmp/file
gives the verify error from above.
Is there a syntax for swinstall to install these simulatainously, or do I have swcopy first, in which case the syntax for that command would also be useful.

Re: Installing Ghostscript - Precompiled
Did a search, found the syntax for the swcopy command I couldn't get my head around last night.

Re: Installing Ghostscript - Precompiled
Ok did
swcopy -s /tmp/file1 @/tmp/depot
swcopy -s /tmp/file2 @/tmp/depot
So I could then run
swinstall -s /tmp/depot and install them both products at the same time. However this still leaves whichever product gets installed first with swverify errors as in reality it installs them sequentially. I'm guessing that even if I merge the depot files the software will still be installed sequentially too so I'm not sure what else to do.

Re: Installing Ghostscript - Precompiled
Sorted, the precompiled software doesn't seem to be bundled with the zlib, jpeg and png libraries it claims to be.
