Installing HP-UX 11.0 from CDROM on bare J5600
Hi all,
I have a J5600 workstation with 4 new blank hard drives and the HP-UX 11.0 CDs that I'd like to install on this machine.
What keystoke do I use to get the system to boot from the CDROM, which has the install disc in it?
I don't have an HP A4575 SVGA monitor, nor an A4983 HP USB keyboard. I tried using my Mac USB 109-key keyboard and an HP A4033A monitor (w/an RGB to DB15 cable) instead.
After I press the power button on the workstation, the final message that's displayed is: Firmware is 5.0, consol is GRAPH7
I see nothing on the monitor. Likewise, the keyboard doesn't seem to be recognized.
Is my problem the fact I am not using peripherals that are recognized, or do I need to install HP-UX 11.0 on my disc on a different machine first, then boot up the J5600 with the new OS on the new disc?
Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Ed

Shalom,
This is a PA-RISC system
Power up, insert CD
Interrupt when prompted
sea
You will see a device list. One of them is the CD, usually first or last listed.

Replace # with the device number from the sea output.
