Installing Ignite-UX

Hi,

I'm trying to install Ignite in my system (hp-ux v11.00) but i get allways the same error (please see attach file)

I've download Ignite from HP and executed the installation instruction (#swinstall -s /tmp/Ignite... \*).

Can anyone give me a clue?

Thanks in advance,

Amer

Re: Installing Ignite-UX

Hi Amer,

The error messages point to missing files, which suggests the download didn't complete properly. You can confirm this by comparing the size of the file on your server with the stated size on HP's download site.

I would suggest downloading the file again and retrying.

Re: Installing Ignite-UX

Hi Amer,

I think your depot is corrupt. Did not the unshar give an error?
I advise you te redownload the software.

Re: Installing Ignite-UX

Hi

the output is complaining about the files you are trying to install. I suggest you download the latest version http://www.software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=IGNITEUXB and try again make sure you read the README file and follow the recommended installation routine :-) John.

Re: Installing Ignite-UX

The first error says "Malloc failed, out of memory for strings" which can indicate that the depot is corrupt.

If you downloaded the file to a PC first, then ftp'd the file to your HP machine, then transfer the file in binary mode. If you are behind a firewall for the download, you may have problems with the download as well.
