Re: Itanium server recovery

all this seems to assume that the server at sungard is comparable to the current server you want to recover. i've no experience w/ differing Itanium boxes, but with some of the PA-RISC ones, you simply couldn't use the ignite tape, as the properties of the server were to different...you had to go the "golden image" route as i recall....

when you initially started this thread, my interpretation was you wanted to recover on *your* box (and not at a DR site w/ some unspecified hdw).

Does ignite can restore files to multi disks?

Re: Itanium server recovery

If you are using the 2-step process (DVD and Ignite tape both) then make sure to use a similar DVD release date at SunGard. I ran into a problem with 11.23 on Itanium where the original build media was a couple years older then the DVD at SunGard and it didn't work. As far as the disk devices go, just interrupt the boot process when prompted to 'cancel batch mode installation' or a related message. As mentioned above you can change the logical volume assignments and sizes to work with the SunGard hardware.
