J200 wants to go 100Mbit networking

So I bought a 100Mbit Card (J3515A) and plugged it in the GSC-slot. After the startup I did not get a new lan interface (in ioscan, ifconfig or lanscan)

Anybody ? TIA !
My systems are 100% Murphy Compliant. Guaranteed!!!

Relink your kernel after running insf -e from /dev

Re: J200 wants to go 100Mbit networking

The LAN card needs a kerner driver installed.
You have to swinstall the driver from application CD (J3515A)
and then bulid a new kernel with the needed driver (btlan4) and reboot.

Re: J200 wants to go 100Mbit networking

Donald,

For the J3515A card you need the btlan4 driver.
The Software needed is J3623BA.

Check in /stand/system if btlan4 is in the kernel file and "what /stand/vmunix|grep btlan"

Good luck

Re: J200 wants to go 100Mbit networking

I installed some HP-PB card on two K-class servers last weekend. But I only installed the driver from the Application CD.

Could anybody tell me
1) how do I know whether I already have the driver installed or not?
2) Under what condition, I have to rebuild the kernel?

Thanks!

Re: J200 wants to go 100Mbit networking

Donald and Sharon,

By running the previous commands i gave and when you run
- ioscan -fnC lan
And the lan card is claimed, the driver is loaded on your system.

Good Luck
