J5600 WORKSTATION HP-UX INSTALL PROBLEM

Hi,
I try to install HP-UX 11.0 on J5600 workstation. But I receive this error messages and system rebboting.

10/0/14/2 hcd USB:Host controller not generating interrupt

10/0/14/2,1 hub USB:Host controller not generating interrupt

what can be the reason?

I know nothing, but my first two guesses
would be:

1. Bad hardware.

2. The OS/version which you're trying to
install doesn't support the (USB) hardware in
this system.

Have you any evidence that this OS/version is
compatible with this hardware? (What's the
date on the CD-ROM? What's the date on the
workstation?)

I assume the only USB devices on the system are keyboard and mouse?

Re: J5600 WORKSTATION HP-UX INSTALL PROBLEM

A little research found:

http://docs.hp.com/en/5990-6721/ch01s08.html

which suggests that HP-UX 11.00 was supported
on a J5600. It also says:

You need the latest release of media to
support the latest hardware on HP-UX
11.0.

but "latest" is not very well defined, and we
don't know the date of your installation kit,
and I don't know how old/late a J5600 is.

Re: J5600 WORKSTATION HP-UX INSTALL PROBLEM

As there is a J5600 under my desk (acting as an ottoman presently, though it was active until a month ago, running 11.11) I can assure you that the machine is quite old, although I believe not as old as 11.0 itself. Also, I believe there was still the concept of the "ACE" media for workstations in the 11.0 stream like there was for the 10.20 stream.
