KEA! X

Has anyone use the "KEA! X" windowing software for exporting xwindows from a HP-UX machine?

Please let me know what you think about the software. Is it worth it? I tried to get reflections or hummingbird, but was unsuccessful.

Any input on the software?

Re: KEA! X

We ran a test three years ago with KEA! X Windowing software(open source or much less expensive) versus Hummingbird.

Hummingbird won, but is very pricey.

The bottom line on KEA! was that it was usable, but it had bugs and performance problems. If those have been cleared up, I think the product might work our. It did work with HP-UX v 11.00 xfs, that much I remember.

Re: KEA! X

I am being told it is basicly unusable, but somehow I find that hard to believe. Its just for a configuration workstation that I will use for accessing the GSP on a rp2470.
So, Ill like use it once a blue moon. I dont see the justification for hummingbird for this.

Please, let me know its truly unusable.

Re: KEA! X

I have used KEA, Cygwin (free) and Reflections X. I can tell you that they all work ok on the local LAN. The only one that I have found that also allows CDE logon through the VPN is ReflectionsX. All of the others allow you do export a display, but only Reflections allows a full screen CDE session.

If it has wheels or a skirt, you can't afford it.
