LAN settings not staying after reboot on 11.31 Itanium superdomes

I have two Itanium 11.31 superdomes. One of the LAN cards on each of the partitions on both superdomes is not keeping its settings after a reboot. It is the connection to our admin LAN on each server that is having the problem.

The LAN card is set to 100FD before the reboot. After the reboot, it is ALWAYS set to 100HD. Each time, I go into smh and change it back to 100FD but it happens again when I reboot the server. Autonegotiation is off.

Since this is happening on all of the servers for the same LAN, I had the network team check the switch ports for all of the connections and they have said that they are force 100 full.

Here is the ioscan output for the LAN card from one of the servers.
lan 12 4/0/8/1/0 iether CLAIMED INTERFACE HP A7012-60601 PCI/PCI-X 1000Base-T Dual-port Adapter

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
Pam

It's a Gigabit card. The new GB drivers insist on autonegotiation. Set it to auto and let the other end of the connection dictate.

Will that require that the switch port be set to autonegotiate too?

Re: LAN settings not staying after reboot on 11.31 Itanium superdomes

I just tried this.

I went into smh...to lan12...and went to change the lan settings (hit a). There was no choice for '100FD autonegotiate on' so I just chose the top choice which was 'autonegoiate on'.

When I exited smh, I checked the lan settings for lan12 and they were 100HD. This causes collisions (I get alerts from our monitoring software).

What now?
