Hello HP community,
Our backup team is in the process of migrating from LTO-2 to LTO-4 tape libraries. We are running approx. a dozen of rp2470 that are fibre attached to these libraries, and wanted to have a quick sanity check performed. I have scanned the ITRC for potential known issues and/or conflicts, patches or firmware between our servers and the new libraries.
H/W: rp2470 - 6Gb Ram
F/C: HP A6826-60001 2Gb Dual Port PCI/PCI-X Fibre Channel Adapter
ISP Code version = 3.3.16
ISP Chip version = 3
OS: 11.11
Patchlist: enclosed as attachment
Backup apps: NetBackup Clients 5.x and 6.x releases
I believe that this is the major info that is needed. If additional info is deemed required, please state so and I will provide it.
With best regards to all,
Serge Poitras

Shalom,
As far as fiber attached drives, my understanding due to our own research is LT4 is supported as read/write targets from all supported OS. 11.11 has support and should work.
But you can't boot off fiber attached drives and do ignite recovery.
We are a netbackup 5.x shop, and are migrating all clients including 11.11 clients to 6.x releases. Our infrastructure is different, we use 11.31 as a media server doing a lot of our backups.

Re: LTO-4 DLT tape drives on HP-UX 11.11
I suspected as much but in our marvelous (and sometimes unpredictable) world of IT, 2 (or more) opinions are better than the one.
Thank you SEP.
