Hi All,
I am getting the following error while creating a logical volume on my Linux Box.
lvcreate -- no free LVM block device specials available
OS:Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 9)
2.4.21-57.ELsmp
lvm-1.0.8-14

Solution
Do you have 256 logical volumes in your system?
You may have hit one of the limits of the LVM-1.0.8 system.
256 logical volumes is quite a lot - do you really need that many? Maybe you should re-think your disk space allocation policies and reorganize the disk space into fewer but larger LVs.

I got it.
I have 256 LVS on my system.I was thinking abt LVs/VG but it is LVs/System. I have reached the max. for RHEL 3.
