Our customer had an rp3440 running HPUX 11i v2 .
We nioticed that the syslog.log file became very large ; the following line is repeated continuously ( every second ) :
" Nov 23 04:01:36 bbacist1 vmunix: function == 0x803C8, arg == 0x41EB3400, ticks == 0xFECAB1F4, flags == 0x0 "
Please advice ASAP.
Thanks and Regards
Roger

Re: Large syslog.log file
If any Symantec product is present on your server, then probably it is because of that and so you might have to take their support.

Re: Large syslog.log file
Hello,
The above line is repeated continuously , and only the value after " Ticks " is changing from line to line.

Re: Large syslog.log file
Re: Large syslog.log file
Have a look at this document from ITRC technical database.
Title: HP-UX 11i v1 Operating Environments - "Timeout called with negative time" error in dmesg and syslog.log file
Document ID: emr_na-c01205240-3
http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en&docId=emr_na-c01205240-4
The document describes a MPT driver error on 11.11 but there is also an update for 11.23.

Re: Large syslog.log file
Re: Large syslog.log file
Please find below the output of the following command :
# echo "0x803C8/i" | adb /stand/vmunix /dev/kmem
mpt_os_callback:
mpt_os_callback:STD r2,-16(r30)
What do you suggest to do on the server.

Probably you need to update the MPT drivers.
