Legato message

Good afternoon fellow sysadmins, We have this message in syslog concerning for legato. The problem is we don't even have Legato installed on our server. Were on a N4000 running 11.0. In other words can someone tell me where this message is coming from. Thankyou in advance for your help.

Re: Legato message

I believe oracle 8i installs Legato.

Search for Legato in your swlist and swremove it.

swlist -l product |grep -i legato

Identify the product and do

swremove product

Re: Legato message

used to have the same message on a N4000, then saw it appear on a K580 box ... both after oracle 8x was installed ..i do not remember ever seeing it in the swlist however ..the DBA at the time told me he could remove it but never did
so my guess is something in the oracle admin can remove that

Re: Legato message

This could be due to Oracle installation.

You can stop this process by

/opt/networker/bin/nsr_shutdown.

Re: Legato message

This is clearly an outcome of Oracle installation. If you are not using this for backup solution, then remove it using 'swremove' or from Oracle installer.

For temporary solution, kill all nsr daemons:

# ps -aef | grep nsr

If you don't want to remove the software, but want to resist this from starting while booting, then check for /sbin/init.d/networker file and remove it along with it's rc links.

Re: Legato message

This is because you stablished a client without specify a Pool so the networker use the default Pool..
You must create a new Pool then assignate this new pool to you client..

Re: Legato message

I agree with Sridhar. It got installed with Oracle. I think one has to uncomment legato installation while installing Oracle.

Re: Legato message

/sbin/init.d/networker stop

or

/opt/networker/bin/nsr_shutdown -a -q

This is due to oracle install.
