Hi Sachin,

Not asking for the IP address or hostname during install, is evidence that the version of Linux (Redhat ?) that you're trying to install doesn't have a driver in the kernel.

According to RedHat you need to be running at least Update 3 of RHEL4, to be certified on the DL380 G5.

Hope this helps,

Hi Rob,

For the same os version I installed the
below network divers.

bnx2-1.7.1d.3-1.src.rpm

but I am getting the below error:

System-config-network
Cannot activate network device eth0
3c501 device eth0 doesn't seem to be present
Delaying initialization

Please give me the some hints to resolve
this.

Waiting for your reply.

Many Thanks,
Sachin

Re: Linux version 4 update 2 32-BIT x86 installation prob on HP Proliant DL380 G5

Hi,

The reference to 3c501 would suggest that something has picked up a 3COM network card, which I suspect isn't present...

Cheers,

Rob

Have you tried using a supported version of Red Hat as I've already mentioned ?

Cheers,
