List MAC on APA Interfaces

I have a hpux 11.00, and it does not show the MAC interface APA:

Common interfaces normally he listed

csux011 [/var/adm] #lanscan -q

0

100 1 2 3 4

101

102

103

104

csux011 [/var/adm] # lanadmin -m -a -s 100

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0

MTU Size = 1500

Speed = 400000000

csux011 [/var/adm] # lanadmin -m -a -s 101

Station Address = 0x000000000000

MTU Size = 0

Speed = 0

Realized that he did not list the PPAs in other interfaces besides the 100 would be the reason ?

Any idea ?

now thanks ...

Hi,

Do a lan scan

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0 is your mac address

Re: List MAC on APA Interfaces

An MAC is only assigned to configured PPA when using aggregate port association. If the APA port is not configured, then I see where the address would be all 0's.

From the lanscan -q output above I do not see any port aggregates associated with PPA 101.

Run lanscan as suggested by others to confirm the LAN configuration.

Re: List MAC on APA Interfaces

Then,

Really no other portgroups were associated interfaces, i was wrong.

Another doubt ?

#lanscan -q

0
100 1 2 3 4
101
102
103
104

#lanadmin -m -a -s 100

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0

MTU Size = 1500

Speed = 400000000

#lanadmin -m -s -a 1

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0

MTU Size = 1500

Speed = 100000000

#lanadmin -m -s -a 2

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0

MTU Size = 1500

Speed = 100000000

#lanadmin -m -s -a 3

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0

MTU Size = 1500

Speed = 100000000

#lanadmin -m -s -a 4

Station Address = 0x001083f7b4f0

MTU Size = 1500

Speed = 100000000

Another thing is normal that all interfaces all interfaces stay with the same MAC address ?

Thank staff

Re: List MAC on APA Interfaces

I haven't worked with APA on 11.00, but the idea is the same I think. I am thinking that as the original 1, 2, 3, and 4 PPA's are now part of a single APA port(PPA 100) the MAC address will be reported as the same for all of them.

Try running # lanscan -v; perhaps more info on the original hardware ports will be shown.

Re: List MAC on APA Interfaces

I checked the documentation and there really he explains that the MAC will be the same for all cards.

The physical ports in the link aggregation use the same MAC address.

The unique MAC address for a specific link aggregate is determined by using the MAC address of one of the ports in the link aggregate. All ports will use the same MAC address.

When a physical port is removed from a link aggregate, the port's MAC address is reset to its own MAC address.
