Log Size

Hi There,

I have a rp8440 attached with an EVA8100. Due to some interruption my DC & DR SAN connectivity is failed and DC syslogs are stored in local storage. I found the default syslog size is 360 MB though my local storage has capacity of 3 GB. My question is, is the log file size is fixed or I can expand the log size whenever I need?

Re: Log Size

Almost no program that writes a logfile will manage the space. In other words, logfiles grow without bounds. That's why system administrators have a job. They have to be trimmed (and archived if necessary).

Hello,

This information might help you (and raise
awareness how important it is to
manage log file growth):
